Christina Boufis is a San Francisco Bay-Area writer whose short fiction has appeared in Pulphouse Fiction Magazine, Kings River Life Magazine, Larceny and Last Chances anthology, and is upcoming in A Rock and a Hard Place Magazine.

Her latest work is a Victorian thriller, Some Dark Force, co-written with Victoria Olsen. Long-time friends and former academics, Christina and Victoria are writing a sequel, Dark Circles, and have plans for another book in the series, Dark Science, starring an unlikely band of female detectives.

Under C.B. Peterson, Christina is the author of a domestic thriller, I Want Him Dead. She’s also a prolific nonfiction writer and former health journalist who’s penned The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Writing Nonfiction, as well as dozens of essays and articles that have appeared in Salon.com, The San Francisco Chronicle, Glamour, WebMD and other publications.

A former academic with a PhD in Victorian literature and Women’s Studies, Christina spent eight years teaching women in the San Francisco County Jail. She loved every minute of her time behind bars.
